The Tennessee Titans will kick off their hyped-up 2017 season with a road game against the New York Jets. Some news has already come out about players who will be seen and won’t be seen in this game.

The offensive line play in the NFL is at an all-time low in terms of talent and technique. And that’s talking about first-team guards and tackles. The preseason features second- and third-string guys who can get beat handily on a consistent basis. Add in the talent level of the Jets offensive line, let alone the roster, and the Titans’ pass rush should have a field day on Saturday night.

The Jets fortunes plummeted with a 5-11 record in 2016 and they revamped their roster during the offseason. They rid themselves of veterans such as wide receivers Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker – who now plays for the Titans –  offensive lineman Nick Mangold and cornerback Darrelle Revis. The moves left many people to say the Jets are tanking the 2017 season with the hopes of earning the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL draft to select a quarterback.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound cornerback has been running with the second team on defense, but he should be able to make a handful of big plays against Jets quarterbacks Josh McCown, Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty, not to mention New York’s lowly receiving corps.

Jackson has looked explosive returning kickoffs and punts. He tied the NCAA record for most career touchdown returns, scoring on four kickoffs, four punts and an interception.
